Wine Label

I illustrated a wine label for One Tail at a Time. My label was based off a rescue dog named Gracie. For this project I used Corel Painter and Photoshop. The biggest challenge was capturing all the expressive details in her face. Because of her dark color I had to be creative with color. My solution wasto paint her much lighter than she actually is, but use very cool tones to give the illusion that she is dark in color. This label was printed and part of a collectors set of wines for charity.

T-Shirt Design

Another project for One Tail at a Time which was a t-shirt illustration. The challenge with this project was that it was a three-color screenprint. Because of this, the linework needed to be crisp with no gradation of colors. A main design choice was keeping an illustrative look by chooising to keep all of the line work freehand. This was achieved in Photoshop and handrawn with a Wacom tablet. Lines were purposely left uneven in places to keep the handrawn look.

One Book. One Chicago.

A poster that I created and entered into the Chicago Public Library's design competition. My piece was selected as a finalist and displayed at the award ceremony.

Illustration Series

I drafted a series of illustrations that became page headers for a new website. The goal was to make the illustrations and typography to be in the same graphic.

Self Portrait

This was a personal project where I created a self portrait with matching typography. The portrait was illustrated by hand in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet.

Digital Portrait

This was another personal project where I painted a portrait by hand in Photoshop. I wanted to see how close I could mimic an oil painting and expolored many of the different techniques that are used in the digitial painting medium.
